As a leading Ford dealership in the Kansas City area, we are proud to offer the Ford Veterans Career Program. This 24-month program is a U.S. Department of Labor and GI Bill approved Veteran Careers Program designed to provide Veterans with the training and employment they need to launch a successful career as a Ford Chassis Technician.Â
Our program begins with full-time employment at our dealership for every hired Veteran. We understand the challenges that Veterans face when transitioning to civilian life and we are committed to providing them with a stable and supportive work environment to help them succeed.Â
Tools
In addition to employment, we offer an optional starter set of tools for Veterans hired through the program, paid for by Gary Crossley Ford. We believe that having the right tools is critical to success and we want to ensure that our Veterans have access to everything they need to perform their jobs at the highest level.Â
Length of the Program
The next step in the program is training. Once on board at Gary Crossley Ford, Veterans will complete 8 weeks of eLearning and practical exercises. This training will provide them with a solid foundation of knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the automotive industry.Â
Following the initial training, Veterans will attend a 4-week intensive Instructor Led Course at a Ford Service Training Center. This course will provide them with specialized training on the latest Ford technology and service procedures. Our goal is to ensure that every Veteran who completes our program is fully prepared to take on the role of a certified Ford Chassis Technician.Â
On the Job Training
Once the training is complete, the learning doesn’t stop. Successful participants will continue their education with selected activities and on-the-job training at our dealership. Our experienced team of technicians will provide hands-on training and guidance to ensure that our Veterans are fully equipped to handle any service issue that comes their way.Â
