Ford Maverick XL Hybrid dominates the small pickup category
The Ford Maverick XL Hybrid claimed first place in the small pickup category, while the Ford Transit Connect took home the top prize in both the small commercial passenger van and small commercial cargo van segments. The Ford Super Duty proved to be the clear winner in the full-size 3/4 ton and one-ton segments, and the Ford Transit secured victories in three separate categories – the full-size one-ton van, full-size half-ton cargo van, and full-size 3/4 ton cargo van segments.Â

And now, we can proudly add the Ford E-Transit to our list of award-winning vehicles. Specifically, the 350 Cargo LR 130 WB version of the EV van was recognized as the best value for fleet owners in the full-size one-ton cargo van segment. This was achieved by winning 15 of 28 measured lifecycle cost scenarios while also providing the best efficiency in its class and the lowest maintenance costs, beating out 14 competitors in the process.Â
Vincentric's cost of ownership analysis and evaluation process explained
To determine the winners of the 2023 Vincentric Best Fleet Value in America Awards, the company performed a thorough cost of ownership analysis that measured over 2,000 vehicle configurations based on typical fleet use. Eight different cost factors were used – depreciation, fees and taxes, financing, fuel, insurance, maintenance, opportunity cost, and repairs. Each vehicle was evaluated in all 50 states plus Washington D.C. using 28 different lifecycle scenarios. Winners were then identified by determining which had the lowest fleet lifecycle cost in the most scenarios within its segment.Â
