Time flies when you are building America’s favorite truck. 2023 will mark 75 years of the iconic Ford F-Series. To mark this momentous occasion Ford is going to offer a 2023 F-150 Heritage Edition. And although 75 years is traditionally the diamond anniversary, the new truck with not be diamond themed. Instead, it will utilize a classic styling touch that we all love, two-tone paint. That’s right, the paint scheme made famous in the 1970s and 1980s is coming back with a modern interpretation on this new F-150 Heritage Edition.
The two-tone paint might be the most obvious feature on the 2023 F-150 Heritage Edition, but it is not the only change. The package will be available on the XLT series F-150 trucks and will also include distinct seat trim covers featuring unique inserts, plus embossing on the console lid to further enhance the uniqueness of the Heritage Edition. Furthermore, a white “75 Years” logo appears in the upper center windshield and is also seen in the center screen startup animation and on the center console.
A-B-A Paint Pattern
The interior and the logos are nice, but we are here for the two-tone paint. The 2023 F-150 Heritage Edition will utilize the classic A-B-A exterior paint pattern. The A color will encompass the roof and pillars. The B color will cover the midsection. And the A color will repeat on bumpers, lower door and lower body. There will be five color options available:
- Race Red midsection, with upper and lower Carbonized Gray
- Atlas Blue midsection, with upper and lower Agate Black
- Antimatter Blue midsection, with upper and lower Carbonized Gray
- Avalanche midsection, with upper and lower Agate Black
- Area 51 midsection, with upper and lower Agate Black
Pricing and Timing
Pricing for the 2023 F-150 Heritage Edition is not yet available. Order banks for this special edition should open in mid-July and pricing will be available at that point. Production of these trucks is expected to begin this fall. As we have seen with other popular Ford models, allocations go quickly. So, if you are interested in the Heritage Edition you will want to keep a close eye on those order banks and get your order in as soon as possible.
A Proper Tribute?
What do you think of the 2023 F-150 Heritage Edition? Is the two-tone paint and special interior the proper way to honor a historic milestone like this? Sure, additional engine power would have been nice but that is not really the point of these Heritage Edition models. When Ford released the Shelby GT350 Heritage Edition in 2020 it was basically just special paint, Wimbledon White with Guardsman Blue stripes. And it proved quite popular. Of course, that was the end of the model line. The F-150 will likely carry on for decades to come. Still, we don’t expect this package to be all that expensive and having the ability to cruise around in a brand-new F-150 with two-tone paint is pretty cool.
