There have been many cool tuner trucks built over the past few decades, ones that surpassed what even mighty factory offerings like the F-150 Lightning were capable of in terms of performance. One of those is the Roush Nitemare, a rather rare, supercharged machine that was one of the fastest pickups one could buy in the 2000s. Now, one lucky person will get the chance to relive a bit of that glorious past by bringing home this 2007 Ford F-150 Roush Nitemare thatās up for grabs at Cars & Bids.
Even better, this Ford F-150 Roush Nitemare is number 42 of just 100 built for the 2007 model year, making it a very rare offering. Like all Nitemares, it was built in response to the discontinuation of the F-150 Lightning and based on the FX2 regular cab with one sole color offering ā black, just like Henry Ford liked them.
On the outside, itās pretty easy to tell the difference between a regular F-150 and a Nitemare thanks to the addition of a chin spoiler, a billet aluminum grille, front window banner, unique badges, Roush graphics, and unique 20-inch wheels. Inside the cabin, the Nitemare sported embroidered floor mats, more badging, Roush gauges, leather seats, unique dash trim, billet aluminum pedals, and a serial numbered plaque.
However, itās what powers the F-150 Nitemare that makes it truly special ā Fordās 5.4-liter V8, which has been fortified with a Roush supercharger, intake manifold, air induction system, and engine control module, along with dual exhaust and a larger radiator and intercooler. Flowing to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission, that combination was good for 455 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. However, this F-150 Nitemare has also been treated to a Team JDM upgrade that includes a custom tune, which lifts output up to 500 horsepower.
In stock form, the F-150 Nitemare was capable of ripping off mid-13 second quarter-mile passes at the drag strip, which was quite impressive at the time and still reasonably quick even by todayās lofty standards. But above all, itās a cool and rare piece of Blue Oval history which in this case shouldnāt have a problem finding a new home.
