In recent years, Ford has established itself as a dominant force in the North American automotive scene, repeatedly securing prestigious accolades such as the North American Car, Truck, and Utility Vehicle of the Year Awards. The streak of success began with the Ford Mustang Mach-E clinching the title of 2021 North American Utility of the Year, followed by the Ford Bronco earning the 2022 North American Utility of the Year award. The Ford Maverick then took center stage, named the 2022 North American Truck of the Year, and the Ford F-150 Lightning electrified the competition by winning the 2023 North American Truck of the Year.Â
This trend of excellence shows no signs of slowing down, as Ford has once again made its presence known in the latest round of nominations. The highly anticipated all-new S650 Ford Mustang has emerged as a strong contender for the title of 2024 North American Car of the Year. Notably, the Ford Super Duty has also claimed a well-deserved spot among the nominees for the 2024 North American Truck of the Year award.Â
The Ford Super Duty faces stiff competition in this quest for recognition, as it is one of 25 exceptional vehicles contending for the esteemed NACTOY award. These contenders were meticulously selected from a pool of 52 eligible models, a testament to the Super Duty’s remarkable standing in the automotive world.Â
In the realm of trucks, the Super Duty finds itself in a relatively compact field this time around, facing off against rivals including the Chevy Colorado, Chevy Silverado EV, Ford Ranger, and GMC Canyon.Â
The path to victory for these remarkable vehicles involves rigorous evaluation by a panel of 50 jurors, who will meticulously assess every aspect of the contenders. The evaluation process kicks off with an annual comparison drive held in Michigan, followed by individual and collective assessments by the jurors. These evaluations culminate in the casting of votes to determine the top three finalists in each category.Â
The moment of truth will arrive on November 16th when the finalists will be officially announced in Los Angeles. Finally, the winners will be unveiled at a special event scheduled for January 4th, 2024, in Detroit.Â

He explained, “We all evaluate vehicles in a different way. In the end, we come to a consensus.
