Fresh off its 2023 redesign, the 2025 Ford Super Duty continues to evolve with several notable updates. While these changes aren’t part of a mid-cycle refresh, Ford is making strategic adjustments to keep the Super Duty lineup competitive in the heavy-duty truck market. From new trim packages to engine updates, here’s what buyers can expect from the latest Super Duty model.
Production Schedule for the 2025 Ford Super Duty
According to industry sources, 2025 Ford Super Duty production will begin on December 2, 2024, at Ford’s Kentucky Truck Plant, followed by the Ohio Assembly Plant on January 21, 2025. As always, these dates are tentative and subject to change, but this timeline gives potential buyers a glimpse of when they can expect deliveries to begin.
Trim Updates: Platinum and Beyond
One of the most notable changes for 2025 is found in the Platinum trim. The truck now features a painted black grille, a tailgate appliqué, and body-color door handles for a more distinctive appearance. Inside, the cabin boasts a new Black Onyx theme with Platinum Blue accents, giving the interior a fresh, upscale look.
Ford is also introducing the Platinum Plus Package for the 2025 model, replacing the previous Limited trim. This premium package adds a unique satin finish grille with bright chrome inserts, a Smoked Truffle interior theme, and Venetian Leather seating surfaces with French stitching. Buyers can also enjoy Max Recline seats for added comfort and a more exclusive ownership experience.
Dropping Configurations and Tech Features
Ford is trimming down some configurations for 2025. The company is discontinuing the SuperCab with a 148-inch wheelbase, SuperCab Lariat models, and SuperCab F-350 and F-450 dual rear wheel pickups. Additionally, like other recent Ford models, the factory SecuriCode keypad has been dropped from the 2025 Super Duty lineup.
Powertrain Updates
On the powertrain front, the 6.8L V8 engine is now standard on the XL, XLT, and Lariat trims, while the more powerful 7.3L V8 comes standard on the King Ranch and Platinum trims. This ensures that buyers across different trims have robust performance options to suit their heavy-duty needs.
The 2025 Ford Super Duty is poised to maintain its position as a top contender in the heavy-duty truck market with these thoughtful updates. From new interior themes and trims to streamlined configurations and powertrain options, Ford continues to enhance the Super Duty’s appeal without a complete redesign.
