Deliveries of 2022 Ford Maverick models equipped with the 2.0L EcoBoost I-4 began back in September, with the 2022 Maverick Hybrid following suit just this month. However, with the Hybrid already sold out for the 2022 model year, quite a few folks will be interested to know when they might be able to order a 2023 Ford Maverick. And now, we know when that will happen, as 2023 Ford Maverick order banks are scheduled to open up on August 16th, 2022, with production following at the Ford Hermosillo Assembly Plant on October 24th, though these dates are subject to change, as always.
Previously, Ford said that 2023 Ford Maverick order banks would open up next summer, so this date falls in line with that timing. In the meantime, 2022 Maverick pickups have proven to be a hot commodity, turning in just five days on dealer lots thanks to a combination of bargain pricing and impressive fuel economy, regardless of engine choice.
Ford recently sent out letters to Hybrid order holders informing them that they would receive a free Ford Integrated Tether System (FITS) for that model’s delay. While those customers await delivery of their new compact pickups, the Maverick Hybrid has also been racking up accolades, including a spot on Kelly Blue Book’s most considered electrified vehicles list, as well as being named Green Car Journal‘s Green Truck of the Year.
So far, the Maverick has proven to be a massive hit with Millennials and Gen Z, as over one-quarter of Maverick buyers thus far are between the age of 18 and 35 – more than double the overall industry rate of 12 percent for that age group. The new compact pickup is also may be the best first “car” for today’s high school students, as well as owners of Blue Oval sedans, and female shoppers, too.
