The 2022 Ford Maverick quickly became a hit with consumers and critics alike, earning universal accolades, Green Car Journal‘s Green Truck of the Year, a spot on Kelley Blue Book’s most considered electrified vehicles list, and two 2022 KBB Best Buy Awards – Best New Model and Best New Compact Truck. Turning in just five days on dealer lots, the Maverick Hybrid is already sold out for the 2022 model year, too. Thus, it should come as no surprise that the aftermarket parts list for the 2022 Ford Maverick is growing quickly, with cruise control kits already available and now, a pair of MRT exhaust systems are joining the fray as well.
Both of MRT’s new Maverick exhaust systems are compatible with Ford’s 2.0L EcoBoost I-4 – not the hybrid, at least for now. Regardless, the first of these two kits is MRT’s “Sport” exhaust, which it calls its “most aggressive option.” Constructed from 2.5-inch T304 stainless steel, the Sport exhaust is corrosion resistant and uses a straight-through design for a much louder sound than stock. MRT’s Maverick Sport exhaust retails for $635.99.
Next up, we have MRT’s Street Performance exhaust for the Maverick, which features an axle-back design with a straight-through muffler for a sportier tone than the stock pipes, though it’s a bit more subdued than the Sport exhaust. Like the Sport exhaust, the Street Performance setup is constructed from T304 stainless steel, and the company says that both systems are easy to install in around an hour. The Maverick Street Performance exhaust retails for $791.99.
While MRT’s exhaust systems are among the first to market for the new Maverick, they certainly won’t be the last as Ford aims to make its compact pickup one of its “Icons” moving forward by fostering a large aftermarket following.
