Like most new vehicles on the planet these days, 2022 Ford Maverick production has been severely limited due to the chip shortage and other supply chain constraints. On top of that, the Maverick has experienced tremendous demand that has far exceeded Ford’s expectations for the thrifty, affordable pickup, which only further complicates matters. Thus, Ford stopped taking orders for the 2022 Maverick earlier this year, Ford Maverick order banks are set to open this coming August. However, sources familiar with the matter have said that production will start one day earlier than previously scheduled.
Previously, 2023 Ford Maverick order banks were scheduled to open on August 16th, 2022, but now, orders will open on August 15th. However, 2023 Maverick production is still scheduled to begin at the Hermosillo Assembly plant on October 24th, though these dates are subject to change, as always, particularly given the myriad number of supply chain issues automakers continue to face.
Some 2022 Maverick orders may get pushed back to the 2023 model year as well, which has happened with a number of other Blue Oval models in recent months. This is particularly true of pickups that are optioned with supply-constrained items, while ditching those features could speed up delivery, on the other hand.
Meanwhile, Ford recently changed its allocation formula for the Maverick, scheduling orders as they’re received rather than prioritizing larger-market dealers or those located in more populated areas, which has been the case with vehicles like the Ford Bronco and Ford Bronco Sport. Of course, this doesn’t apply to orders that are placed with supply-constrained features present.
