The 2024 Ford F-150 Hybrid is set to become a more prevalent choice for customers, thanks to Ford’s commitment to making it more accessible and affordable. Despite Ford’s significant investments in all-electric vehicles, they continue to see the value in hybrids, predicting robust sales for the foreseeable future. The unexpected success of the Ford F-150 PowerBoost hybrid after its 2021 launch, especially due to its Pro Power Onboard feature, prompted Ford to reduce its price and increase its availability for the 2024 refresh.Â
The 2023 Ford F-150 distinguished itself as the top-selling full-hybrid pickup in the U.S. during the first half of 2023. Its sales surged by 28.1%, with the hybrid variant constituting 10% of all F-150 sales. Ford aims to double these figures in 2024, setting the PowerBoost on course to become one of the U.S.’s most popular hybrids.Â
In 2024, those purchasing the Ford F-150 will find the PowerBoost option—now available from XLT to Platinum Plus—as affordable as the standard twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 EcoBoost. This translates to buyers getting a superior and more fuel-efficient powertrain at the same price. Additionally, the truck will feature a standard 2.4kW Pro Power Onboard, with an option to upgrade to a 7.2kW capacity.Â
Andrew Frick, Ford Blue’s Vice President of Sales and Trucks, emphasized the company’s commitment to making hybrid technology more attainable. He remarked, “We aim to empower our customers by pricing the hybrid at par with the 3.5L EcoBoost.” He further highlighted Ford’s tradition of making technology widely available, as evidenced by their EcoBoost engines and high-strength aluminum alloy bodies. The PowerBoost Hybrid is the newest addition to this legacy.Â
