You Can Actually Live Out of the 2023 Ford Transit Trail

2023 FORD TRANSIT TRAIL

ā€œHome is where you park itā€ takes on a whole new meaning with Fordā€™s newest game changer, the 2023 Ford Transit Trail. In either a medium, high-roof or extended version offering up 487 cubic feet of customizable cargo space, itā€™s a van with endless possibilities. From the factory, the Transit Trail would come with a wider track, higher ground clearance, and all-wheel drive to make off-roading to campsites a breeze. Ford also says that the Transit Trail is ā€œupfittedā€ to become a living/camping space. Thankfully, the Transit Trail will also come with aĀ network of upfittersĀ to be professionally customized, too.

ā€œNo matter the task at hand ā€“ delivering packages or enjoying life off the grid ā€“ customers can rely on their Transit to get the job done,ā€ said Ted Cannis, Ford Pro CEO. ā€œOur decades of experience in the motorhome industry and insights from the van-life community helped us design a vehicle that makes it easier for adventure seekers to start their next journey.ā€

The Transit Trail will also be ready to tow up to 6,500 lbs ā€” ideal for bats, snowmobiles, additional campers, and more. Fordā€™s trusty 3.5 liter EcoBoost engine will serve as the powerplant, providing 310 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque, paired with a gas-saving but power-providing 10-speed transmission. Keeping the van planted to Godā€™s green earth will be 30.5-inch Goodyear Wrangler Workhorse all-terrain tires on unique black alloy 16-inch wheels.

2023 Ford Transit Trail

Starting in the spring of 2023, this adventure-mobile will start at $65,975 without markups. Which, is around $15,000 higher than the standard Transit MSRP. Aside from the outdoor enthusiast crowd, Ford is planning on selling them to commercial upfitters too, to allow them the platform to create and sell incredible Overlanding rigs. To help keep potential customers confident, the Transit Trail will be backed by Fordā€™s 3-year/36,000-mile warranty, as well as being within the network of their mobile service vans.

Since the Transit is Fordā€™s most popular van for commercial and fleet reasons due to its rigidity, versatility, and reliability, itā€™s a no-brainer to use this platform to appeal to the off-road/outdoorsy masses. Just like all their other out-of-the-box ideas, itā€™s sure to do better than the company hoped for.
