Despite being set to discontinue after the 2023 model year, the Ford Transit Connect still offers excellent value for customers seeking a small van. The vehicle recently earned two 2023 Best Fleet Value Awards from Vincentric, adding to its accolades that include a 2022 Best Fleet Value in America Award and a 2023 Best CPO Value Award. The Transit Connect won both the small commercial passenger van and small commercial cargo van segments, thanks to its low cost of ownership.
In the passenger van category, the Transit Connect surpassed its competitors in all 28 measured lifecycle cost scenarios, offering the best fuel economy, lowest repair costs, and lowest maintenance costs in its class. Similarly, the vehicle outperformed its rivals in the cargo van category, securing first place by achieving the same feats.
To determine the winners of the 2023 Vincentric Best Fleet Value in America Awards, Vincentric conducted a cost of ownership analysis, evaluating over 2,000 vehicle configurations based on typical fleet use. The company used eight different cost factors and evaluated each vehicle in all 50 states plus Washington D.C. using 28 different lifecycle scenarios. Winners were chosen based on which vehicle had the lowest fleet lifecycle cost in the most scenarios within its segment.
