After its February debut, the 2025 Ford Explorer, alongside the Lincoln Aviator, rolled off the production line at the Chicago Assembly plant starting in May. Following Ford’s stringent quality checks, these refreshed models have now started making their way to customers. Recently, the Ford Authority team got an exclusive look at the luxurious 2025 Ford Explorer Platinum and the high-performance 2025 Ford Explorer ST, examining the various enhancements and updates that distinguish these models.Ā
In an earlier feature, we provided a comprehensive video tour detailing all the exterior updates of the 2025 Ford Explorer ST and Platinum. Now, weāre shifting focus to the interior, offering a close-up look at the redesigned cabin of the ST model. This particular 2025 Ford Explorer ST, dressed in Agate Black, features an Onyx interior with ActiveX and Miko inserts, accentuated by striking red stitching throughout.Ā
Interior Redesign: A Blend of Technology and Comfort
The most significant change within the 2025 Explorerās cabin is the completely redesigned dashboard and cockpit area. The centerpiece of this transformation is the all-new 13.2-inch display, powered by Ford’s latest Digital Experience software. This new setup aims to enhance the front seat experience, particularly by adding more legroom and increasing overall comfort.Ā
The dashboard itself has been overhauled with a fresh design, incorporating new air vents and a revamped center stack. The use of soft-touch materials at nearly every common contact point enhances the cabin’s premium feel, while newly designed hard trim pieces add a layer of visual sophistication.Ā
Enhanced Audio and Streamlined Controls
The 2025 Explorer STās interior also introduces a new B&O sound system āsound barā that spans the dashboard, providing an immersive audio experience. In terms of controls, a notable change is the relocation of the HVAC controls, which are now integrated into the new infotainment screen. However, there are still some physical controls positioned beneath the screen for convenience.Ā
Beyond these updates, much of the cabin remains familiar to previous Explorer owners, although Ford has cleverly included a few hidden Easter eggs throughout the interior, adding an element of discovery for new owners.Ā
