The Bronco Sport is a fine little SUV. Unfortunately, it lives in the shadow of its bigger brother. But if folks would give it a chance, they would see that the Bronco Sport is a capable little off roader in its own right. And in an effort to draw even more attention to the off-road chops of the Bronco Sport Ford is announcing some changes for 2023. First, is a new Bronco Sport Black Diamond Off-Road Package. Second, Ford is expanding the access to the Bronco Off-Roadeo program to anyone that purchases a new 2023 Bronco Sport regardless of the trim level.
“For adventurers who want to get more from their Bronco Sport, we’re enhancing the ownership experience by offering more trail capability with the new Black Diamond Off-Road Package, plus an included opportunity to learn what their SUV can do at Bronco Off-Roadeo,” said Mark Grueber, Enthusiast Vehicle Marketing Manager. “Today, nearly 90 percent of Bronco Sport customers that attend Off-Roadeo are likely to go off-roading again, and 97 percent of customers are more knowledgeable and confident doing so, furthering our goal of getting into the wild.”
Black Diamond Off-Road Package
The new Black Diamond Off-Road Package is available on the Bronco Sport Big Bend and Bronco Sport Outer Banks trims. In addition to offering more style it offers some valuable off-road gear. Four new steel skid plates are added as part of this package. The plates cover critical areas such as the fuel tank and canister shield. The package also comes with unique 17-in Carbonized Gray low-gloss aluminum wheels with 225/65R17 all-terrain tires. On the styling side you get a matte black hood graphic with small Bronco horse logo, plus lower bodyside graphics with Bronco lettering on driver and front-passenger doors. The package is available for order now at your local Ford dealer.
Bronco Off-Roadeo
The Bronco Off-Roadeo program is an off-road playground that is designed to increase the off-road skills of all drivers. It is also designed to be a lot of fun. There are currently four locations in the United States. You can find one in Texas, Moab, Nevada, and New Hampshire. Previously this school was open to anyone that purchased a 2021 or newer Bronco. It was also available Bronco Sport owners as long as they had the Badlands or First Edition trim. However, starting with the 2023 model year, every Bronco Sport owner and order-holder now receives complimentary Bronco Off-Roadeo adventure access and trail guide instruction. Off-Road Focus
The new Black Diamond Off-Road Package is nice. As is the opening up of Bronco Off-Roadeo to more people. But neither of these are earth shattering changes. But what they do show is that Ford really does want to position the Bronco and Bronco Sport as adventure vehicles. Yes, they can take you to the mall if you want. But there are other Ford vehicles that may be better choices if that is all you want to do. Ford really wants people to use the Bronco and Bronco Sport for adventure. Or they just want you to spend more money on Ford Bronco accessories. Either way, the Bronco Sport is getting more serious about going off-road.
