Terminator Supercharged F-1 Restomod is One Mean Machine

Striking Restomod

The Ford F-1 pickup has been a popular subject for restomod builds in recent years, and understandably so. Everyone loves the timeless looks of the old Ford. But not everyone likes to sacrifice modern performance, ride quality, and overall comfort. Plus, with a few aesthetic modifications, the looks of these ’50s haulers can be updated, as well. With that said, few restomod projects achieve as striking of an appearance as the chopped 1951 pickup featured here.

Menacing Visuals

The all-black visual helps give this F-1 a commanding look. The gloss black finish is accompanied by blackĀ 17-inch FR500 wheels at all four corners. The Mustang wheels are wrapped in Mickey Thompson Street Comp radial tires. The wheels are only the tip of the iceberg in terms of the pickup’s Mustang connection, though.

Terminator Power

Popping the hood of the truck will reveal a complete Terminator supercharged 4.6-liter V8 from theĀ 2003-2004 SVT Cobra Mustang. Performance upgrades here include a JLT cold air intake, Mishimoto aluminum radiator, and upgraded supercharger pulleys. The powerful mill is mated to a T56 6-speed manual transmission, as is the aforementioned Mustang.

Cobra All Around

The Cobra power is celebrated with a huge laser-engraved emblem on the truck’s bed. The wood finished and protected using epoxy resin, giving it a nice shine. The F-1 body sits atop a boxed frame and rides on a Mustang suspension system that consists of a Cobra independent rear.

Inside the Cab

The interior has received a number of modern upgrades as well. The all-black color scheme continues inside, with a few chrome accents.Ā TMI leather bucket seats keep the driver and passenger riding comfortably. And the door panel inserts and headliner are suede.

Chopped

The tasteful restomod’s character is further enhanced with the incorporation of LED lighting. The low-to-the-ground and athletic proportions of the F-1 are complemented by the chopped cab, which now sits 3 inches lower than the original. We don’t know about you, but we’d love to cruise around in this beautiful beast.
