Finding older vehicles with low miles these daysĀ isnāt terribly uncommon, though most of them are fancyĀ sports cars, exotics, or the kind of vehicle that was obviously going to be a collectible the day it rolled off the assembly line. What isnāt common are nice, low-mile examples of cars like the Ford Tempo, thoughĀ a good oneĀ tends to pop up for sale every now and then. However, it certainly isnāt every day that we come across a Ford Tempo GLS in any kind of condition.
Today, however, is that day, as this super solid, ultra-rare 1989 Ford Tempo GLS sedan is currently up for sale onĀ eBay. With just 85,000 miles on the clock, it certainly hasnāt been driven a lot over the years, and itās a one-owner car to boot. The exterior appears to be in very nice condition, save for the typical rock chips and one section where the paint is starting to peel.
The interior is likewise in excellent shape with no obvious damage or excessive wear. This Tempo GLS is filled with a number of amenities as well, including air conditioning, power seat belts, power windows, power locks, cruise control, and an automatic transmission. The GLS was Fordās sporty version of the Tempo, but it only offered a mere 100 horsepower from its 2.3L inline-four cylinder powerplant. That was a bit of a boost over the standard versionās 86 ponies, at least.
Regardless, the GLS certainly looked the part, thanks to the addition of a body kit/ground effects. This particular example is finished in a sea of white, with a red stripe adding a little contrast and some sportiness to the mix. Today, this Tempo GLS is a very rare sight, and weād be curious to know just how many of them are still around, though weād wager that number is very, very low.
