2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse: Outclassing Rivals in Every Review

2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse

It’s an exhilarating time in the automobile world! Just as the iconic Chevy Camaro and Dodge Challenger grapple with an uncertain future, possibly transitioning to all-electric platforms and saying goodbye to their beloved V8 engines, Ford has made a roaring entrance with its S650 generation 2024 Mustang. And let me tell you, the buzz is real.

Enter the 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse. This beast is not just another member of the Mustang family; it’s setting the gold standard. Our friends over at Throttle House took the initiative to pit the Dark Horse against its main competitors – the Camaro LT1 and the Challenger Scat Pack 392 Widebody. And boy, were the results eye-opening!

All three contenders come equipped with a V8, rear-wheel drive, and manual transmission. Starting with the power, the Camaro boasts 455 horsepower, the Challenger impresses with 485 horsepower, but the Dark Horse gallops ahead with a whopping 500 horsepower. In a conventional drag race, the Mustang clinched a victory, demonstrating its prowess in straight-line speed. Not to be outdone, Throttle House then organized a roll race. While it was a tighter contest, the Mustang Dark Horse still emerged victorious.

But it’s not all about straight-line speed, is it? On a track with twists and turns, the Dark Horse showcased its impeccable brakes and robust suspension, making each curve seem like a cakewalk. One notable mention is the Dark Horse’s Tremec manual gearbox, which Throttle House praised as a significant upgrade over the GT’s MT82. When all was said and done, the Dark Horse clocked a lap time of 1:10.22, ranking as the eighth fastest time Throttle House has ever recorded. And yes, it left its rivals in the dust.

Ford has outdone itself with the Dark Horse, addressing past issues with the GT and delivering a car that’s near-perfection. And even though the Challenger and Camaro might be taking a backseat for a while, it’s evident that the Mustang Dark Horse didn’t just win by default. It earned its stripes, proving once again why Ford remains a force to be reckoned with in the automobile world. Cheers to the new champion on the block!
