Ford Mustang Mach-e and Explorer

Gary Crossley Ford is pleased to announce that the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has awarded the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Ford Explorer a total ā€œgoodā€ rating after successfully updated front overlap crash tests. Among the 13 midsize SUVs tested, the Mustang Mach-E and Explorer were two of only four utilities to receive the IIHSā€™s top-tier rating.

Of the 13 midsize SUVs tested, the Mustang Mach-E and Explorer were two of only four utilities to receive the top-tier rating. The Mustang Mach-E also achieved good ratings in every safety category tested by the IIHS, making it the top-scoring electric midsize SUV of all those tested to date.

In addition to the ā€˜goodā€™ rating, the Mustang Mach-E, equipped with specific headlights, and the Ford Explorer were recognized as IIHS TOP SAFETY PICKS.

ā€œSafety and quality are two of our top priorities,ā€ said Jim Baumbick, vice president of Ford Product Development and Quality. ā€œReceiving this recognition from IIHS for the Mustang Mach-E and Explorer has reaffirmed that weā€™re focused on the right places to help make our customersā€™ lives better.ā€

The new IIHS 2.0 moderate front overlap crash testing now includes measuring the impact to rear-seat occupants, in addition to front passengers. Both the Mustang Mach-E and the 2022-23 Ford Explorer achieved the same good rating since they were introduced.

Ford uses seat belts with pretensioner and load-limiting technology in both the first and second rows to help achieve these latest test results.

Weā€™re proud to say that Fordā€˜s SUV sales in 2023 have made Ford Americaā€™s top-selling SUV brand, with the Explorer earning the title of Americaā€™s best-selling three-row midsize SUV. And letā€™s not forget that the Mustang Mach-E was the second best-selling electric SUV in 2022.

Safety and quality are always our top priorities at Gary Crossley Ford. Just another example of the Crossley Difference.
