Since its launch, theĀ Ford F-150 LightningĀ hit the ground running and has been routinely recognized as one of the top considered electric vehicles. It made theĀ Autolist 2022 EV Truck Studyās top choiceĀ for EV pickups, and was recognized as the most-considered electric truckĀ in the first quarter of 2022Ā and thenĀ again in the second quarter. Unsurprisingly,Ā Kelley Blue Book is one again reporting that the F-150 Lightning is one of the most considered electrified vehicles by car shoppers, according to its quarterly Brand Watch report.
The Ford F-150 Lightning was the eighth most-considered electrified vehicle in Q3 2022, outranking the Toyota Prius and Chevy Bolt EV. The F-150 Lightning was one of just three pure electric vehicles to make the cut. Aside from the Bolt EV, the Tesla Model 3 was also recognized, which was ranked third. All other competitors feature hybrid powertrains as opposed to purely electric. The F-150 Lightning was also the only EV pickup that was featured on the list.
Fifth place went to the F-150 Lightningās corporate cousin,Ā the Ford Maverick hybrid. Sixth was the Honda Accord hybrid, followed by the Toyota Camry hybrid in seventh overall.
In total, 27 percent of new vehicle shoppers last quarter considered electric vehicles, which is just shy of the 28 percent peak observed in Q4 2021.
In the broader scheme of things, Ford fared well when it came to brand consideration. In fact, Ford ranked second in consideration among non-luxury buyers last quarter, trailing behind Toyota and barely outperforming crosstown rival Chevy, according to the Q3 Brand Watch report.
